Woodland park sensory garden // Seattle, WA
Land Morphology and Fischer Bouma Partnership collaborated on the design of a Sensory Garden at Woodland Park Zoo. The immersive garden is designed as a place for the entire community to come together in all seasons to experience rich plantings and unique sensory features. The garden includes special accommodations for the sight impaired, the deaf, and people with autism. Unique features include a cathedral of melodies where bells, chimes and rasps engage visitors with sound and vibrations. The garden design also includes an artful table of understanding, a log wall and keyhole constructed of trees recycled from the site.
