Prescott Avenue Residence // Bronxville, NY
The garden for this lovely Tudor Revival residence was designed to reflect simple geometries on the facade of the house and create a lawn for the family to use. Privacy from the street was achieved by creating a vegetated screen that combined various hollies, cypress, and boxwood. Large sweeps of ornamental grasses, hydrangea, and astilbe add seasonal color through the spring, summer, and autumn. Containers, furniture, and an outdoor kitchen embellish the existing terraces on the back of the residence for entertaining. The simplicity of the garden makes for an excellent foreground while complementing the historic architecture.
