This Medina garden offers a series of experiences, including a meandering drive through a woodland garden of majestic Douglas firs. The traditional home with a view westward to Lake Washington is surrounded by a series of gardens to live in and enjoy. Facing east, there is a morning garden for enjoying outdoor breakfast. Large containers placed on a grid provide interest on the approach to the home’s main entry. Two fire features are included in the project: one for guests on a terrace adjacent to the guest wing of the residence and one on the main west-facing terrace, which takes advantage of the setting and the unobstructed views of Lake Washington. An edible garden with various berries supplies the breakfast and dessert table. The garden is a series of pleasantly comfortable rooms for family activities and guests. Terraces and the garden rooms provide ample outdoor living spaces. A woodland garden offers a quiet space for reflection.
